Re: Fishing in Koycegiz area

Thanks Carol I think I will drive up there and pay on the door.

Hi Mark As we understand it so far you can fish Koycegiz lake with rod and line and you can get a tourist license a dutch guy listed on this tread or you can go to GÖKÇEOVA LAKE and pay to fish.

Sounds very interesting. Will be in the area in Septmber. If possible, could you give the Google Earth location of the lake? Thanks

Re: Fishing in Koycegiz area

Hi everyone
I had a great time in turkey, what a lovely place and people.
Didnt manage to fish koycegiz lake but did go on the organised trip (it cost £35) up to gokceova lake which was a bit of a nightmare trip, 1.5hr on coach to get to the bottom of the mountain, 1.5hrs on a 30 seat coach up a winding cliff lined dirt track to the top of the mountain at 1500ft at about 5/10mph. The lake is lovely but the fishing was poor (a few trout came out but no carp), lots of small fish, tackle was poor. If anyone wants to go I would say drive yourself and take your own tackle or at least terminal tackle and some sweetcorn/bread.
