Re: Fishing in Koycegiz area

Posted by Ercan in the Coarse fishing thread as to whether you need a licence or not to fish in the lake.................

At Koycegiz lake you can fish with fishing line but not with nets. There is a dutch guy here who helps foreign fishers and supply equipment. His name is Franky Wauters and staying at Flora. You can send me pm for further information. Nobody asking any licence around the lake if you are fishing with rods but no nets. All you have to do is pay 15 TL for stamp and one section of the lake is secured for sport fishing. And you can get this stamp from Flora, Mr Alp.

Re: Fishing in Koycegiz area

I have failed you the fisherman of the forum. Tried to get to the lake with some friends but got caught out by the SNOW yes SNOW about 3 kms from the lake. Hopefully will be able to post picture soon to show problem lol.The snow is late clearing this year after the bad winter but should be clear in the next week. Other intrepid explorers from the forum are going up early may so expect reports and photos then. The Belgiums werent catching in Koycegiz lake too early but saw some 10 to 15kg carp on the fishmongers slab so some one is still managing it.

Re: Fishing in Koycegiz area

Thanks for trying, you should always carry 2 huskies and a sled in you suitcase for this sort of situation. Was the snow just on the high ground.
