Re: How to get your residency permit in Kusadasi....

We already have a permit and need to renew it. Was told that we can do this at the local police station in Kusadasi, is this true and if so is it the big police station near the harbour?

Re: How to get your residency permit in Kusadasi....

Yes found this out last month when we thought it would be easier to go to Kusadasi then the usual slog to Aydin boy were we wrong. Went to the police station got our little piece of paper the the price on and made our way over to the tax office where we were then informed that Beth, Kyan my 1 year old nephew and myself needed tax numbers, we have never had to have one before as neither of us have bank accounts but apparently the rules for Kusadasi are different to those in Aydin. So after waiting half an hour for our tax numbers we then got in the queue to pay for our residencys and everyone knows how long that takes. Finally after an hour we emerge from the tax office and make our way back to the police station making a brief stop for photos and photocopies. We arrive at the police station with all the relevant paper work fill in our forms and expect just to be told to come back in a few days but oh noooo Kusadasi have a few more rules different to Aydin. İn our passports (our being Bethany, Kyan and myself) under reasons for living here it says because our parents live here, well apparently they now need proof that our parents are supporting us and we are not getting money another way. We were told to go home get our parents to the local notary and get them to sign some form that basically says that they are supporting us totally i.e. feeding us clothing us providing accomodation. So very disappointed we head home and tell Mum and Dad they will be expected up bright and early tomorrow for a trip to the notary and then back to Kusadasi you can imagine their faces. They got to the notary in Altinkum and were litteraly laughed at as they had never heard of such a rule and told to go back to Kusadasi police station and explain this. Sooooo off my dad set to be told once he arrived yes there is a rule and unless we get these papers you daughters and grandsn will not be getting their visa. Anyway he got the papers and all was well, but what a palavar. We went to Kusadasi to save on petrol money only having to make 2 extra trips and then pay the notary fees!

Roz the Police Station is on the Sea Front. The Tax Office is just before the Cemetery.

Re: How to get your residency permit in Kusadasi....

just a note to say sharon renewed her yearly residency last monday in kusadasi, she went to kusadasi police station, after checking originals, she handed in just one copy of passport, and permit ,and you must have your tax number, he gives you your paper to take to tax office which is between bul bul and cemetary, where the current cost is 589 tl not 630 as some people have suggested, so its gone up 21 lira since a yer ago, pay the money, trot back to police station fill in one basic form printed in english, he takes just 3 passport photos from you and says see you friday if walking and you start at 9.30am at police station it takes 90 min max
