Tuesday Market Area in Kusadasi

Hi,
Can anyone tell me exactly where this is in Kus. For example a landmark, as i cannot remember where it is. I have booked some friends in a Hotel in a few weeks, and may need to book another person, and i need to know within a little. I know Bar Street, the Dolmus Station and most of the restaurants, Harbour area and Marina Area, and the main Bazaar Areas, but cannot for the life of me think where Tuesday Market area is! Doh!

Cheers

Opposite the Dolmus station is the big Migros.

If you were looking from the dolmus station the road that goes up the hill past Migros comes to a roundabout. Turn left and the "new" 2005 Tuesday market is now located on the left hand. Just look for the car parking mayhem - cant miss it.

Not my favourite pastime.... food shopping, so tended to get in and out asap, never really paid much attention to the locality.

The new layout on the other side of the road is a lot better than before.

Also theres a few stalls selling clothing now. I am sure the Tuesday market is more expensive than the Friday.... for everything.

Talking of which, you are aware that the old Friday clothes/food market has been completely reorganised?

Wednesday is now clothes
Friday is solely foodstuffs

Cheers for that. I only went to the old Friday market once, and then again when it changed o mainly fruit/veg. As for the Wednesday market, i always forgot about that one!

Do you know where the Cankaya Hotel is? Again, i have seen it, as this is available, it might be ideal for the third person that i may have to book. The Talat is now full. That is why i am trying to get an idea if they are noth near each other. I can also get the Istankoy, and i know where that one is.
Cheers Again

Lorraine,

Just found this snippet on another forum.....

Cankaya..

it is a really nice hotel, the staff are friendly and polite, its a really short walk to bar street (take the turning on the left just opposite the garage into the back streets and follow the right fork all the way round, u'll come out just by bar street) and its a lovely location because you're right between the centrum and ladies beach. It has a swimming pool, turkish bath, sauna, they serve food and theres a bar, pool tables, table football and tabletennis downstairs and tv's in each room. Airconditioning is included in the price of the room and you dont have to pay extra for it, also they have a laundrette service which is 1 million (or the equivilant) per item.
One downfall is it is up a steep hill which is crap in heels, but im guessing you wont have that problem!!!! Lol
My advice is to stay there, i thoroughly enjoyed my stay!!! Probably my favourite of the hotels ive stayed in in turkey!

Thank ever so much. Now i can visualise where that Hotel is. I am sure it would be perfect for the single bloke. They will have to have a meeting point. Hopefully it is not too far from the Talat Hotel.

Cheers again

Re: Tuesday Market Area in Kusadasi

As an alternative to the three Kusadasi markets, there is always Soke which is massive and excellent for buying clothes. Prices are much cheaper. Soke market is on Wednesday.

Soke is easily reached by dolmus - you already know the dolmus station. Takes about 40 minutes each way.

Selcuk is superb for food shopping - not so hot on the clothes side though. Apart from the market there is a lot of small restaurants and bars that still have that Turkish charm and its a nice day out combined with the market. This one is on Saturday.... and of course its just up the road from Ephesus and the other direction the famous wine making village, Sirince.

Sirince
