shopping outlet
Can anybody tell me how to get to the shopping outlet, I think it is near Soke, we passed it when we were going from Bodrum to kusadasi on our transfer in June.
Can you get a dolmus from Kusadasi to it, and how long would it take, also what is the name of the outlet in Turkish.
Thanks everyone

Re: shopping outlet
It called the same, Soke Outlets. You drive out of Kusadasi towards Soke, just before Soke take the left turn at the traffic lights and follow the signs for Bodrum. Right at the first roundabout, following the Bodrum sign, over the railway line and carry on, then you can't miss them, they are on your right. It takes about 20-30 mins in a car. I am not sure about the dolmus, but I am sure someone on here will let you know. I hope that helps.

Re: shopping outlet
You can take a dolmus from Kus to Soke, then change and take one to the shopping outlets.

if you are making the trip specially to go there you may be disappointed - my wife and girls were not that impressed and preferred the boutiques in Kus and the Bazaar on the way to Davutlar
my impression was it was local brands at higher prices than ypou could expect in the UK

Re: shopping outlet
We passed it on the way from bodrum airport, but as you say if it is just as expensive as here, may as well stay in Kus, and surrounding areas, thanks for the info Thurston.

if you are passing then stop and look but I wouldnt recommend a visit specially. anyway its a bit "western" - a smaller version of Bicester so why not go to a more traditional Bazaar?

Re: shopping outlet
I could not agree more, but I am sure my two girls will spot it when we are driving to Kus, I prefer the bazzars myself, but with those two there can never be enough shops there is always one more pair of shoes they have to buy, I keep telling them, they only have one pair of feet each!!

Re: shopping outlet
When we were still living in the states a turkish friend of ours came back to turkey and drove down to bodrum from istanbul, they were quite excited to see the outlet mall, but oh boy were they dissapointed with the prices, she came back and said their outlet mall prices are worse than our regular department store full price.........I couldnt believe it until after i moved here and went, but luckily i went after i had lived in bodrum for a while, and was able to compare prices. we all agree that prices in turkey for some stuff is outrageous, well;, compared to those outrageous prices, the outlet mall prices are good, but not compared to prices in my own country. But after spending 100-200 ytl for a shirt for my husband, i scooped one up at 65 lira and thought it was a bargain, which we all know isnt really a bargain.....

Re: shopping outlet
its very strange us stating how high the prices are within these outlets as on most occassions I have been there the majority of shoppers have been Turkish speaking, maybe not living in turkey but they seem to be buying, are the people a lot richer in the capital and therefore see the prices as a lot lower, or maybe they are german/turks, swiss/turks etc
