I also agree

I couldn't open your HDTN link......... but anyway since the Doğan group was pressured by a various tax investigations into selling the paper to the pro-Govt Demirören Group I think HDTN has lost it's independent critical edge and don't read it often.

Nothing decided by the YSK and just various rumblings and remarks from the big man whilst going to appeal for a re run ..... saying " Whatever the outcome, we will accept it if the YSK decides. saying ominously "We need to be ready for all kinds of possibilities " he said.

I was glad to see the hopeful CHP incumbent keeping a high profile... with his campaign for Mayorship in the News, being seen at the football Derby Besiktas v Başakşehir match to a great reception and chants for him to take the Mayorship .... the Besiktas fans are known for their radical pro secular political following so he was made to feel welcome .... the incumbent is going to the Fenerbahce v Galatasaray match which should be interesting the President being a Fenerbahce fan but not always reciprocated by the fans.........

Re: Turkish Elections

"Cat among the pigeons" New Ankara Mayor in his minutes proposed for the sake of transparency to cancel Municipality tenders given by past administration and take them in-house as far as possible by the municipality itself taking the workers from the privatised contractors into becoming municipality workers ... as expected didn't go down well....led to scuffles...

Re: Turkish Elections

Unfortunately Enoch there could be a reason for that, just the start.

The AKP applied to the Supreme Election Council (YSK) for the annulment of the Istanbul mayoral vote through an extraordinary appeal procedure citing fraud.

According to procedure, to trigger the extraordinary appeal procedure, the provincial election council has to first give İmamoğlu his certificate of election
