Re: residency advice

I can answer the part about the minimum amount of money. I learned this from an immigration official at the DGMM in Antalya.

There is no set amount you need, it just needs to be a realistic amount that the foreigner can live on without working illegally.

There used to be a set amount, which was the equivalent of $500 USD per month, but this rule has been abolished.

For example, she told me about a lady who was applying for a residence permit, and she didn't have much money. But at the same time she explained that she didn't eat out, didn't spend money for entertainment, didn't smoke or drink, etc... so while her pension income was rather low, so were her expenses. She went on to explain that the immigration officials focus on the individual and their own personal situation.

So a good rule of thumb would be, if you are sure you have enough to live on, you just need to be able to articulate this to the immigration official, and show evidence that what you are saying is true.

In my case I had a foreign government pension, and a foreign bank, with no savings at all in any Turkish bank. All the immigration official asked for was a print-out of the last six months of my bank statement... no apostille or sworn translation required.

The online system only requires you to state that you have enough to live on. It doesn't say what proof is required. The immigration official will tell you what he or she requires during the interview, but you should take a printout of the last six months' activity of your bank account just in case.

I know that's not Kuşadası, but since this was explained to me by an immigration official I though it might help.
