Great stuff, Shirleyann. Thank you. When we were househunting in Turkey there were Satilik signs all over the place and, dumbbell that I am, I thought they were advertising satellite tv systems. Oh, if only I had known then what I know now!!

The English word "push" and "pushed" is some kind of swear word here in Turkey or an insult of some sort,
We had some Turkish friends over and were moveing the sofa to make room, My wife said "just push it" our friends looked at each other startled at what she had said and giggled to one another, then they said told us "push" is not a good word in Turkey.

So be careful when you offer to "push" someones car

Im refering to the English word "push" not the Turkish, i've never heard of it til our friends told us.
So when we say Push quite innocently they hear the turkish puşt.
