Turkish Living Forums - living in izmir

chocolategirl New Member	living in izmir please help can anyone tell me what it like living in izmir its a big town and there seems there is so much to do there what are house prices like and are there any good hospitals . I am going to buy property in turkey but not sure where is it marmaris or izmir any help would be appriated. plus estate agents good ones in this area thanksx

starman gone	Izmir is a big city of over 3 million. Although there are some nice areas it is hardly the place for expats to buy property and live there. Marmaris is about 4 hours away and is much smaller and I bet more to your liking. Cesme is also another place you might want to look and is less then an hour away from Izmir.

I think you need to do a little more research before you commit to buying anywhere as Izmir and Marmaris are completely different aspects of life in Turkey.

Renting can be a good option once you settle as you get a good idea of what the area is like before you commit to a purchase.

Be careful and dont jump in until you are certain.
