Don't bother with Istanbul hospital unless you've got your credit card with you and/or you have a pocket full of euros because they won't take anything else.

Thanks peeps any info with costs much appreciated.

It,s my Hubby who is on the good ole! NHS waiting list for this op and the waiting is now getting rather aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhh!! but did make a Phone Call to Hospital today and told it should be anytime this month that he gets called inbut not holding my breath !! but would be a relief not only for him to have the Op. but for my sanity then maybe just maybe once he has fully recovered, we can start to enjoy life once again, and get back to see our little des. res in Turkey again here,s hoping anyway.

Istanbul hospitals are expensive Kadin, but given the choice and the cash I wouldn't go anywhere else
Taylans mother last year, needed an operation on her knees, where they replaced the muscle at the back of the knee with muscle from her back.
She went to Istanbul on the Friday, had tests saturday and the op on Sunday. Was back home in Fethiye Tuesday morning. The price?7.5k This was a teaching hospital (Tay watched the whole op[:0])and the price included paying the surgeon, the Anesthetist and two nurses.
She could have had the op at the public hospital in Fethiye but they are known by the locals as Butchers,a choice of private hospitals in and around Fethiye but the doctor and friends advised on istanbul, knowing it would be done immediately and properly.
Taylans dad now has heart problems and although Taylan cannot shut the shop to be with him, he will go to istanbul.Yes, we are lucky that we have the money to be able to afford to go and yes we have a credit card, but I would rather spend the money on being healthy and well than risk having complications and more than likely some nasty flesh eating disease.[8D][}]

Linda, Jennie hasn't mentioned UK hospitals, her fella is Turkish and so are his family who have or who are going to receive treatment. I think Jen was referring to the hospital in Fethiye not UK.

I think you have been very fortunate to have received the very best of treatment here Linda because not everyone has, I think on the whole the NHS give us a good service but not all hospitals are outstanding[:0]
