Cost of Living

I know this may sound strange but can anyone tell me on average how much you can live on per week in Akbuk and what this includes. We have our house on the market in England and we are getting silly offers for it. We are trying to work out the minimum we can sell it for.

We were due to do exactly the same next year and we have postponed the move. It is mad to sell here (Belfast) at the moment with prices so bad. If you are thinking of putting money into a high intrest account to live of monthly intrest my bank , Oyakbank, were 2 weeks ago offering 2350 lira a month after tax for a £70000 investment.

and for 2350 lira you can live like a Padişah....

you can live comfortably for half that amount.

I'm getting worried, every day the falling house prices in the UK is in the news. We want to put our house on the market early next year, I'm so scared we wont be able to make the move!

Moneypenny we are EXACTLY the same and have just had to bite the bullet and postpone. Only people selling at the moment are those who absolutely have to. Its a buyers market and you will be offered rubbish price, if offered a price at all. News today said house sales are now at lowest since 1978!

I can fully sympathise. Our new home was only finished a few weeks ago and we have had it all sorted for the big move next year. Highly unlikely now. Just hoping the following year is a bit better

Re: Cost of Living

we sold our house last year in preparation for our move to turkey which we hope to do at the end of this year. everyone was telling us we were stupid to sell so early but now we are so glad we did. ok we have been in a rented house for longer than we would have liked but we would have been in such a panic now if we hadn't sold when we did.

Re: Cost of Living

Why do you want to sell? Why not rent it out, presumably mortgages are paid off and have somewhere back here to return to later in life.

Rental market here in Belfast is rubbish. Will sell up, pay off mortage, bank remainder and wont be back. 45 years in Belfast is enough!
