Re: To Live İn Turkey

We have been to Bulgaria but pefer Turkey for various reasons, but has anyone else heard the comment that some people have about Turkey (and yes, you're right...they usually haven't been there) that it is dirty.
We've heard it said many times.
The comment is rubbish of coarse, but where on earth do these stereotypes start that a lot of people have?
Anyone else heard this comment?

Re: To Live İn Turkey

I desperately wanted to buy a place in Turkey and love the country but having been ripped off by a builder and subsequesntly having problems with the solicitor my faith has gone in the whole system. I did buy a beautiful piece of land and have since built a lovely house in Bulgaria. I found the buying process easy and the people warm and friendly. Yes you can't escape the communist past and there are some areas which you wouldn't wish to frequent but it is what you make it. You must plan carefully and take recommendations for trustworthy people who will help you. So whilst I still long for my turkish paradise I have lost confidence and have become suspicious of the so called developers who have shown me nothing but corruption and are enjoying my retirement savings. So give Bulgaria a chance but do your homework.

I got caught up in one of those "buy a broad a place" scams. It took me 24 years to get out of the contract ! !
