Re: To Live İn Turkey
Brian
I've never been to Bulgaria but i would say Turkey has more advantages..
1. Easier buying process
2. Warmer Climate
3. Large choice of beaches
4. More Westernised
5. Easy access

Re: To Live İn Turkey
Brian i would put Turkey way ahead of Bulgaria as it still lags along way behind on almost everything.
Take note of what Mark has to say and if so contact him direct he knows what he's talking about.

Re: To Live İn Turkey
Hi there..Excuse me Andy but how can you say that Mark knows what he is talking about as he himself admits he has Never been to Bulgaria!! You yourself say that you would put Turkey way ahead of Bulgaria..are we to presume that you know what you are talking about and have been there yourself?
I myself have actually travelled all over Bulgaria and having driven over there from Didim feel in a position to express an opinion. Whilst I would agree with the comments Mark makes regarding the choice of beaches and the warmer climate I would certainly Dissagree with the following comments he made:
1..That Turkey has an easier buying process!! Excuse me but there is no law at the moment to enable British people to purchase property here in Turkey so how doe's that make it easier?!
2..More westernised!.. Bulgaria is extremely westernised and is way ahead of Turkey regarding the improvments and changes it has made towards becoming part of the EU.
3..Easy access! From where and at what time of year?!! The price of flights to Bulgaria are cheaper than flights to Turkey from the UK and are available throughout the whole year due to the popularity of their ski resorts.
Sorry Andy but I felt that I really had to comment on your post as I really did disagree with it

Re: To Live İn Turkey
Well said Rafiki,
Nothing like some facts from someone who has visited a country.
I still find it difficult to understand why the Turkish Government are taking so long on this buying property issue for foreigners in Turkey.Surely the developers would have put pressure on the government to get this sorted out.
I have found a property which I am interested in buying but until this is sorted out, although the estate agent says I can buy,I will wait and see what they have to say.

Re: To Live İn Turkey
Having spent 3 weeks viewing property in Bulgaria, I couldn't wait for the flight home.
What I saw of the country was very drab, under-developed and still wrapped up in communism.
Prostitution and poverty everywhere, people so conditioned to communism that they are totally devoid of character.
If you like taking your children on a drive out into the country and have to endure prostitutes baring their backsides to you as you travel along the main road, then Bulgaria is the place to be!!!!!!
I wouldn't invest one penny there.
Turkey is a million miles ahead of Bulgaria in every respect

Re: To Live İn Turkey
Rafiki
Didnt realise you were here to assasinate my opinions, i thought this forum was to share opinions and not be drawn into political arenas.
I stand by my opinions completely based upon my personal research.
There IS a law which allows foreigners to buy here in Turkey which is easier than the system operated in Bulgaria, ie having to set up a company which then owns the land your building on in Bulgaria.
Before posting this reply, the cheapest flight i could find to Bulgaria was £199.00, cheapest to Turkey was £98.00
With regards to being more Westernised Turkey has developed larger areas of its country than Bulgaria has, useing more modern materials and developing its industries and workforce.
MY OPINION based on research Bulgaria has to challenge corruption in the public administration, weak judiciary, child abuse, homeless children, drugs, and organised crime on a larger scale than Turkey does to qualify to meet with western standards.
Im sure Andy expressed his opinion on how i have advised him prior to joining this forum and since.
"We all have a RIGHT to an OPINION, no one has a RIGHT to JUDGE"
unless you know different?
I think KENNY just summed Bulgaria up!!!

OF COURSE WE HAVE THE RIGHT TO JUDGE!
Sorry, I didn't mean to shout, of course we have the right to judge, that is what makes the Forum so attractive.
Personally, I like the idea of being able to voice an opinion without the need to know what I am talking about. That is my opinion and I am sure I know what I am talking about!
