Ripped off in Turkey???
We have all shared the normal problems we get associated with moveing to another country and the culture shock etc etc...
Has anyone had any business partnership offers and been taken for a ride or lost money on a project?
In other words an experience of been ripped off??
I hear of many all the time so if anyone has, it may help others see the warning signs before it happens to them.

Re: Ripped off in Turkey???
Mark,
People get ripped off all over the world by not covering all the bases. It's not just 'money hungry Turks' that rip people off!
Any one who buys a property or invests in a business should, in my opinion, make sure they get a good lawyer or solicitor to represent them. That way they can safeguard their money much better.
For the sake of £500 or thereabouts it's silly not to when you might be spending your life savings.

ps -- 'rip off' stories always carry the risk of slander or reprisals and I would be very careful what you post for the World to see. There's always two sides to every story.

yes we know it happens all over the world, this is about Turkey and Slander will only become an issue if persons are named, we can tell our experiences without the names, there is a thred on here about the Email scams from Yahoo.
We only need to read the experiences so others will then see the signs before they may fall victim.

Mark,
Maybe you could share any experiences that you may have had and then maybe others may feel like they may share some of these, if. of course they have any to share.

Re: Ripped off in Turkey???
Personally I find the title of this thread offensive, in fact not only to me but also to the members of this forum who are Turkish.
If you've got something to say Mark, say it. Do you have any personal experience of being "ripped off" in Turkey?
Incidentally, I've heard just as many, if not more, "horror" stories that relate to "money hungry brits" as I have Turks. And the bottom line with most of them is that the victims were so consumed with their greed to make a fast buck that common sense and good judgement went out the window.
Caveat emptor...

John,
I totally agree with your sentiments.
