Our move to Turkey

As yet we don't know when we will be moving to Turkey, but is there anything that we should be doing now to make the transition as smooth as possible. Thanks. Rick.

Dont be silly Starman, have you seen his postings?!! ouch ouch ouch...I felt all those slaps....

No seriously, pack up all you clothes store things that can be sent over when settled with family and friends, and sell everything else, and just arrive, spend 2 months enjoying yourself getting accustomed then on the 3rd month of your passport visa apply for your residency and then get ready to remain in the country for upto 3months until your passport is returned.

After it is all done and you have no hair left (as torn it all out)you will look back and think to yourself "what was all the fuss about" even the selling of you house in the UK.

Good luck rick and wife..

Rick,

Off the cuff, I would suggest the following.

Establish a Turkish bank account or two in Turkey. Send over a little money each month to keep them active. Will pay dividends later (ha ha no joke intended)

Make sure you have the plastic type driving licence and if you already do, apply for a new one seeing youve lost it

Maybe start using the free ads to sell off any junk youve got that you wont be bringing over.

Theres a couple of other things but I cant post here, email me if you want ok

Merv!
