Mosquitos

The mosquitos around the M.Pyramids complex seem particulaly bad compared with the rest of Akbuk. My wife got badly bitten when we were out in June and her Mum is out there now and has told us she has also been badly 'got'. I have heard that somebody? (Ayhan? The local Authorities?) has to spray the area to reduce the impact of the mosquitos.

Does anyone know what this is? and is it due to be done?

The little blighters can make a nice relaxing break a bit of a chore. Luckily, I don't seem to get bitten, obviously not sweet enough!

One for the residents ass , perhaps?

Re: Mosquitos

When I was there in July the spraying was being done then, this is the first time I have seen it done here in Fevzi Pasa. Was it just a coincidence the Turks were there on holiday at that time?

Re: Mosquitos

Don,t forget to use the off spray which is available in most stores and keeps the mossies away.

Re: Mosquitos

i have seen the wagon spraying the roads and hedges around some sites but have never seen them going on to private complexes i think that comes in with your site management, our management have sprayed our gardens and surrounding areas to keep the mossies down - perhaps you should ask is spraying their responisibility from the maintenance you pay

Re: Mosquitos

Might seem like a silly question but are there still many mosquitos around? I mean with the temperatures cooling down, are they still an issue? This is a general question and not just for the Akbuk area I should add.

Re: Mosquitos

Our sitesi at Hillside Gumuskaya do regular sprays on the whole area, however I did my usual prevention method of taking Citrezine antihistamine and spraying inside the apartment before we went out in the evening and the very last night I got 3 all on the same leg. We did notice that there were more around than at this time last year esp when sat near shrubbery etc in the evenings down in the village.

You would think their nmbers would be decreasing wouldnt you! The little bloody sucking buggers are still out in force and are worse than i have ever known. I think the rain a couple of weeks back didnt help as it got extremely hot immediately after. I for one cant wait for them to all buzzzzzz off.
