Stash your cash
With all the recent carry on with the banking system in the EU a friend of mine from Belfast is very nervous about where to stash/invest his confirmation money.
Excluding the obvious of stashing it under his mattress in Uzumlu, Willie would grately appreciate any ideas where the Government or the thieving Eu will not get there hands on his shillings.

Gold - coins or ingots but not jewelry

Re: Stash your cash
I will quite happily look after it for you in my Cayman Islands account. My interest rates are, well, interesting.

Re: Stash your cash
Ted believe me I would only need to take it (if I had any) 80 miles up the road to Sleepys town , Enniskillen because no one, but no one gets anywhere near their money up there!!!!

Re: Stash your cash
I am usually wrong on these things, but for what it is worth, there is a point of view that gold is overvalued at the moment and could drop in price if the bubble bursts. If it devalues, that would be the time to buy, I think.
Having said that the last time I was in a position to buy gold ten years ago ( I think around $400 ) I convinced myself it was going to crash - If I had bought then my money would have tripled since. So my advice is worth not a lot.

Re: Stash your cash
So what the procedure for buying and selling Gold.
Although Willie professes to have only his confirmation money he has been regularly seen chasing the end of a rainbow, I suspect he already has a pot of gold.

Re: Stash your cash
Thanks Juco an interesting article.
Another option that some of my mates recon is defensive stocks such as booze and tobacco companies.Other than the ethics issue, has anyone got a view?
Also Willies money may now be required for his forthcoming bail application.
