Cleaning & Inflation

I looked up the old threads on the cost of having apartments cleaned, the one I bought was very dirty and needed an awful lot of scrubbing. I am sure the lady that did it did not receive anything like what I paid ~ it was arranged (as many things are) through some who knows someone, and at that point I didn't know anyone and time was limited.

So, now I am wondering who can you trust to do cleans after family / friends have let your apartment, and, how much is the current going rate in light of the global credit crunch.

My place is in Dacta ~ and everything is cok pahalur (I know thats not how you spell it but my dictionary is at home and I'm at work lol)

Any views welcome

Re: Cleaning & Inflation

The rate in Fethiye is around 45 - 50ytl for a day's cleaning. You will pay more if it is a one-off clean - perhaps 60 - 70ytl, but you get a better rate for regular booking.
You can get it for a little less if a neighbour does it, but not by much.
You provide all the equipment and tell them to bring their own food.

Re: Cleaning & Inflation

I too was totally ripped off on that first clean Sniffy. Three years ago, and I paid 100 lira only because I didn't know any better. I know it was after the builders finished and a more difficult job but she didn't even take the tape off the windows or bathroom stuff. I had to do it all again, even the cupboards had builders rubble in them! Needless to say I have never asked that particular source to provide me with a cleaner again. I did use an English friend who I could trust sometimes but she has now gone. I do have another possible contact and will tell you when I see you. One of the restaurant owners told me to pay no more than 50 lira. The biggest worry for me is leaving a key with someone as once an agent was let into my house and I found interior pictures with my stuff on them on a web site! As I don't rent my house we think it's safest just to clean up after ourselves now, everyone gets one room or area and it doesn't take long.
You are dead right about the cok pahali Sniffy. Where we used to use local services/workers etc we don't now as we are finding they are too expensive. I know the cost of living has gone up for them as well but some of them are really 'chancing their arms' and charging huge yabanci mark ups.The result is we don't use them.

I have my apartment thoroughly cleaned once a month - and I mean thoroughly - for 50ytl. When you're next here call me and I'll give you more info. The cleaner is trustworthy.

Thanks for replies, really helpful

If you pm your mobile no. Yil I will text you re: the cleaner, Jane I will be picking your brains over a gin and slim lol!

Some of the quotes I had for getting things done Jane have been ridiculous, which is a shame as I would be the 1st to support the local ecomomy .

I still have the curtains to sort out as I tried at last min to get it done but realise the haggling needed to be more aggressive - my dads fault I will gag him in future.

I'll be there Sunday, soooo looking forward to it
