Mandalya Gardens & Furniture

Hello all

I am new to the forum and was hoping for some advice from the members. Ihave purchased a garden apartment at Mandalya Gardens which has just completed.

The developer / investment company have sent through details of the furniture pack to furnish our 2 bedroom garden apartment. The total cost is 6,700 which I personally think is ridiculous.

Can members let me know what they think. Should I pay this much or would it be cheaper for me to travel to Akbuk and furnish the property myself?

Would also be good to hear from other people who have purchased property at Mandalya Gardens.

Cheers

Andrew

Hi Andrew and welcome.

Was in a similar position myself when I received a "furniture pack" price list.

Just check various threads on this forum and you'll quickly see that you will be able to do it a lot cheaper and have fun doing so.

Good Luck
Darren

That is a ridiculous price for furnishing a 2 bed apartment.

Have you considered using Ikea? You can choose the furniture in the UK, order and have delivered from Ikea in Izmir exactly the same furniture.

Ikea delivery is very expensive if you live some 2 hours from Izmir. My friends hired a man with a van for 60. He took them to Ikea then waited around 6 hours until they had finished their shopping.

Hello Andrew, have also purchased on Mandalya Gardens, a poolside apartment on what i think to be a wonderful site and we look forward to spending a lot of time there.
As for the furniture "do it yourself" its easy enough, if you have the time.
I think Besim the Builder as done a first class job and i"m for one are well pleased with my purchase especialy after reading on TLF how things can and do,sometimes go wrong.

Re: Mandalya Gardens & Furniture

Thanks for all the information guys.

I like the idea of coming over myself and furnishing the property and I appreciate that this will be the cheapest option. However I would also consider using a third party to furnish the property. Will be more expensive but would be more convenient for me.

Can anyone recommend a reliable company / person that could furnish the property for me at a more reasonable price?

Thanks

Re: Mandalya Gardens & Furniture

Hi Andrew

We have also purchased a poolside apartment at Mandalya Gardens. We recently went out To Akbuk on a furnishing trip and were absolutely delighted with our apartment and the complex. We were even lucky enough to get our TAPU whilst out there and found Besim to be very helpful.

You would need to spend at least a week there if you want to buy all your furniture and get it delivered and even then it will be a very hectic week.

We spent approximately 6000 furnishing our 2 bed apartment. This included all the curtains and good quality garden furniture for all 4 balconies.

We purchased our apartment directly through the developers and whilst on our visit to Akbuk we did see some of the furniture used for their packs and it did appear to be of a high quality.

However you decide to furnish we are sure that you'll be really pleased with your apartment.

If we can be of any more help please feel free to pm us.

Angela and Alan

Yes, that is totally ridiculous. I furnished my 3 bed nr Altinkum for 3.5k to include everything from fitted curtains to fitted wardrobes, all bedding, cutlery etc. TV/DVD etc. etc. Happy to give breakdown with costs if you pm me.

PS I did try to get items from IKEA but they were a total nightmare. Promises, promises, endless phone calls and emails but never delivered. I think you need to go up there in person to sort it out, but remember their stock fluctuates daily. In the end I went to a couple of recommended shops in Altinkum for most items and they delivered the same day with good or better quality goods.

Re: Mandalya Gardens & Furniture

Hi Andrew,
We have just joined the forum and have bought a Garden Appt at Mandalya Apartments. We were out at the end of Oct 2008 and chose all the furnishings ourselves. We still have some things to get when next in Akbuk but have spent between 3000-4000 so far. We did buy bedding in the UK but felt we wanted to make our own choices rather than be given a pack. We understand Anne has only just come to an arrangement with Solutions to supply furniture packs to people who want to rent out.
Altinkum is probably the best place for furniture although curtains can be purchased in Akbuk.
We are going out at the end of April so hope to meet you.
Regards,

Christine & David
