Re: Where to buy an ADSL router?
I don't know Marmaris or Mugla, but you can get ADSL routers from Turk Telekom, especially if you order an ADSL connection through them when they will probably give you one for free! You need residency to get ADSL though, from anyone.
If you have your connection all sorted out then I'm sure you can get a router from Tekno SA which is a big national chain, or Keysmart which is a smaller national chain.
TVs are easy as you suspect, and SIM cards are easy to but make sure you ask for it to be registered when you buy it! It doesn't cost much more, only requires a passport photocopy and guarantees you don't get randomly cut off and your number given to someone else! Also means you get to put your credit on in English instead of Turkish

Martyn, have you tried it successfully & if so can you recommend something that works? I did just that when I came, can't remember the model I brought now otherwise I would mention it - and now I have a £90 piece of scrap plastic sitting in my cupboard because no-one could configure it, not even for money

No, it was just a thought. I know how configure them here but I don't know if there are any differences in Turkey, get advice first. You can buy a decent one here for around £40 from www.ebuyer.com. I have a Linksys one(part of the Cisco group) and I find it excellent.

Re: Where to buy an ADSL router?
Some modems might not work here in Turkey due to the problems in lines and electricity. I suggest an Airties, which has 7/24 support. It comes with the standard configuration and all you have to do in the configuration of the modem is to fill in your username and password given by telekom. The only bug it has (as far as I know) the modem might reset to original settings in case of a sudden electricty cut (might happen once in a million times-not every cut).

Re: Where to buy an ADSL router?
For reference, I found a shop in Muğla called Gold Computer & Electronics, just next to Vakifbank on Vakifbank Yani in the centre. They had most computer gadgets you might need. Only thing to be aware of is that the prices are in US Dollars, with a predicted YTL price, but this can change if the exchange rate has moved.
