Buying Property in and around Turunc
Hi All,
Kerry and I have just come back from our first house hunting trip and would like some advice on pricing and negotiations.
We have been watching the Market since making our decison to buy last september and not much has moved over the winter, I understand the market will start to move now as the season approaches.
Can anyone let me know how negotiable agents and construction companies will be on the asking price, in the UK it is quite common to offer anything as low as 10% below the asking price, but I am not sure how this is in Turkey.
We have seen a nice property in a hillside village behind Turunc called Dereozo has anyone bought property there or know anyone that has, or does anyone know anything about the area.
Thanks Neil

Re: Buying Property in and around Turunc
I'm not familiar with Turunc, but in this area (Fethiye) a lot of developers are desperate to sell. Be bold and don't be frightened to make a seemingly daft offer and be prepared to walk away; some apartments can be got for half the price they originally went on the market; a lot of pricing is highly speculative and the price will fall back when the builder has a reality check. Try to find something that has been on the market for some time and make an insulting offer, if they don't throw you out you have the start of a negotiation.

Re: Buying Property in and around Turunc
as said above........... the market is not bouyant at the moment and you are in control. Turunc is very high priced, overpriced some might say. There are better deals if you look around. The main thing is to establish why you want the property, eg investment, rental, living etc. Once you have settled that and the area you want then often it is better to but off plan or direct from the builder.
