Re: Curtain shops
Hi Kirsty, as Trish has said there are a few places which are really good and reasonable to buy curtains. We bought ours there when we furnished our place in Datca two years ago, and again we were looking for curtains for a second property about four weeks ago and went back to the same guy. If you cross straight over the street at Tansas, go past MacDonalds on the corner, past a bank (think it is Isbank), and cross the road to the left of the wee river canal you will find one. Cannot remember the name but the guy told me that he was moving two doors down and opening a new furniture and curtain shop in a couple of weeks time. It should be opened by now, his prices are reasonable and they have a vast choice of curtain and lovely voile fabrics, they will come out to your place to measure up and will make them up in no time.
Another one is, if you keep on the same street walking down past the bank until you reach the end of the street, you will come to the area where all the Turkish locals do their shopping. Turn right at the bottom and cross over the road to the left hand side and you will see a shoe shop, go past it and you will come to the curtain shop, just a few shops further down. It is practically beside a shop that sells very glamorous looking bedding, Louis 14th type mirrors, ornaments and generally everything to make a home different. This is also worth a visit if you are down that way. Hope you get sorted out.
All the best,
Doreen
