Missing Brit Tourist
From ZAMAN:
Search for missing British tourist under way
The British Embassy in Ankara is in contact with the relevant Turkish authorities concerning a British tourist who was last seen in the Mediterranean resort town of Marmaris, officials from the embassy told Today's Zaman on Tuesday.
Bradley Evans, 36, was last seen in a hotel bar in Marmaris on Aug. 6, the officials said. BBC reported that the Hertfordshire police said the automotive repair worker was due to return home that evening but did not catch his flight to Gatwick. His belongings remain in his room, including his return ticket and passport. His family has appealed for information through the police missing persons unit. Evans was staying at the Club Viva Hotel in Marmaris and had flown to Turkey from Gatwick on July 23 for two weeks. He is described as white, about 5 feet 7 inches tall, of medium build with receding, mousey-brown hair, blue eyes and several tattoos, including a tribal band on the top of his right arm and five dots on his lower left arm, BBC also reported. Kim Pearce from the Hertfordshire Police missing persons investigation unit said: "We are appealing to anyone who recognizes the description of Bradley and who may have stayed at the same hotel as him to come forward with any information which may help us. anybody who may help us trace his whereabouts to contact us, at 0845 33 00 222."

Quite a long time to be sleeping it off, Shirley, but, yes, I also hope that he turns up safe and well.

Re: Missing Brit Tourist
Thats awful for his family, and of course odd and worrying if he has left his personal belongings behind. A similar thing happened in Dalyan about 10 years ago to a girl called Ann from my home town. I knew her to say hello to as she used to swim at my local swimming pool. All her personal items and passport were in her hotel room but she disappeared, and has never been found to this day. I often think of her especially when I visit Dalyan, as it is such a terrible thing to happen. She didnt really have family as she had a complicated background. Let's pray this young man turns up safe and well.

Re: Missing Brit Tourist
Its a strange story, strange that he turned up at the hotel, well after he should have left for England. Maybe he had amnesia or something.
