Birthday Cake in Marmaris

Hello everyone ... First time posting, this board seems to be quite useful. I just have a quick question to ask ....

Will I be able to buy a Birthday Cake from the Local Tansas in Marmaris? The big one next to Mc Donalds? or do I have to get it from somewhere else?

What are the opening time in February aswell? Because I fly out on the 19th on my friends birthday .. but probably will not arrive in Marmaris until something like 8 pm. Would bring one with me from the UK but don't know how customs will handle it.

4th time back to Turkey ... first time in Marmaris, usually stay in Icmeler... what is the weather like over there at that time? Surely it's better than the snow here! He he... not that I mind to be fair... Days off college!

hi mystery man tansas is open till 10pm winter time and you can buy cakes there but not too big. If you are staying in hotel you can contact them and they can arrange a whole party for you for not a lot of money including the cake. still raining just now but should be finished by the time you get here we hope.

You should not have any problems with customs, regarding a cake, plus you will be able to have it iced. Also you will have some idea of what it will taste like.

A friend of mine brought her Wedding Cake over from Uk with no problems. Cakes over here aren't generally of the same quality - they tend to be very sickly sweet.

Personally I would bring one over from the UK. If you are buying a cake in a box I would put this in a tupperware type box in my suitcase. If I was making a cake I would be inclined to wrap it well and again put in a tupperware box in my suitcase.

You'd be surprised to know what people take from the UK to Turkey in their luggage, the best one I've heard is bacon hidden in a waste bin in a case.

Hey Guys/Gals!

Thank you very much for your reply regarding a cake! Not going to the extreme of organising a surprise party :P

I know the weather has not been so good has it ... been watching it on the bbc website.

Regarding the cake I think I have decided to purchase it in Turkey ... saves me bringing one, less luggage ... although we could do it on the plane but then health and safety comes into it so best just to stick to the announcement! HAHA! Can't wait to see the red face! Travelling all day on your Birthday ... I'd hate it!

Very popular with Russian visitors! Great position, lovely sunbathing platform opposite hotel on private beach. Great rooftop bar, 2 swimming pools - one opposite the beach and another at the back of the hotel.
