Re: Obtaining & Cost Of Medicines in Turkey
Most medicine prices are controlled by the Government with prices printed on the boxes, so the cost is going to be the same wherever you get your information. If you have not yet identified a doctor or hospital that you are going to use, why not email hospitals in your area with the names of the drugs and see what response you get. Most doctors speak some English.
If you don't require regular contact with doctors, the Pharmacists are your main reference point. Again, you will soon find one that speaks English. They will either supply the exact medication or find the equivalent. You may find they suggest cheaper, non branded, versions of the same medication; because the costs are controlled, they do not make excess profits from selling you anything and, in my experience, are more interested in a long term customer relationship.
You can go to any of the hospitals (I don't know Marmaris, but I guess it is the same) to get check-ups and pay as you go. Some in my area (Fethiye) offer discounted prices for residents where, supposedly, you get treatment at the same rates as Turkish people if you register with them.
Some hospitals and clinics specialise in providing English speaking services with on-site translators, you need to get a few suggestions from people living in that town and then have a look at their web site for specialist services.
