Musa Dogan Solicitor
Hello
We have found a property in Datca that we are going to buy but would really like to use a solicitor to handle the transaction even though our estate agent tells us we do not need to.
We have found a Solicitor recomended on the British Embassy website called Musa Dogan in Mugla has anyone used him or knows of any good ones in the area.
Thank you
Jane

Re: Musa Dogan Solicitor
Hi datcabound
Unfortunately kaplumba is over in datca this week but she
had a bad experience with a solicitor that she used who was
listed on the british embasy website so be cautious, she will
be back next week if you can hold on
One of the main problems is that although people are very quick
to say 'use a solicitor', turkish solicitors are not trained to work
in the property market, when turks buy they do not use a solicitor
therefore a lot of solicitors rely on the estate agent to tell them
what to do.

Re: Musa Dogan Solicitor
Hi Jane, we bought land in Datca last year, we insisted on using a solicitor, but as Carol says our agent more or less had to tell him how to word things, this solicitor does speak some English, if you still need the name PM me and I will search it out for you, are you moving to Datca permanently or using your house as a holiday home?, which part of Datca are you in?

Re: Musa Dogan Solicitor
Hi Datchabound.
I went on a motorbike trip this week & camped on the Datcha peninsula on the way back last night. A really pretty place (& great biking roads) I thought.
Anyway, re. Solicitor, I just posted this on another thread:
"I have met with a solicitor on about 3 occasions discussing various things with him including property purchase & setting up a company. He is part of a firm of two (soon to be three) solicitors in Bodrum. He speaks good English & seems to be very professional.
His name is Ekrem Sarı
Office Tel. No. 00902523131991 [ ]
PM or mail me if you want his e-mail or mobile number."
Regards
Pete

Re: Musa Dogan Solicitor
hi Jane
can't help with ur query as we bought our property in datca through an agent in northern ireland. However we are now buying an apartment there and have dealt only with the estate agent and developer directly and no one as recommended a solicitor.
just wanted to say hello as folk from datca are few and far between. hope to see on the datca forum soon
