Talking bringing things over to turkey

Hi Its me again sale of house is all going fine completion date is 19th january so we fly out on the 4th of febuary to sign for bar and get residence visas ect. we have sold all furniture and filled all familys lofts with items we can not part with and also some items to come back to if all goes wrong[but its not] just doesnt hurt to be prepared .So here is my question for the day we want to bring laptop, small Dvd player a few small items of beding and my daughters collection of Tusker elephants no amount of bribbing will get her to part with them does anyone think we will have a problem with these items all will fit in suitcases and we will be leaving the odd small case for family members to bring out when they visit us
many thanks Goldmattymiss

I don't think you will have any problems, just keep the laptop in your hand luggage, otherwise it will probably get smashed on route.

Most people have taken things like those without any problems. Good luck with your move.

thanks have tried to keep thing to a small amount that will fit in cases. The butterflies are just starting to get going but i think that is because we just want to get started with the bar and get settled as soon as possible have invested in lots of dvds for those long winters. Also can we get sky and how much is it I know some of the bars have it but is it the same as English sky?

Good luck with you move. I have and am taking things out like griils and toasters, kettles and dvd players in my suitcases as they were mostly given to me when my mum moved to Cyprus. I cannot see the point in buying again when I already own it. She gave me loads of things which I will be taking out over the next few hols I have in Turkey. Please let us know how your big move goes.

Cheers
Rach

Sky can be received there, but you need a huge dish, 3meter I think.

Do a search for that using the forum search facility, it has been covered a few times already.
