Has the Tapu suspension made you reconsider your involvement with Turkey?
With the effects of the Tapu suspension still hanging over property owners and buyers alike, I wondered if this has made anyone reconsider their involvement with Turkish property?
Maybe some people will see this latest development as a good time to call time on their property investment and sell up just as soon as you can or maybe you were going to buy but the suspension has put you off?
I've created a poll for this and there are options there aimed at both buyers and sellers.

No - we were in this for the long term and to be honest the whole family love going out to Turkey. No one has yet to ask if we can go somewhere else for our annual holidays. Our wobbly moments came during the 2 years it took to get the TAPU - so I guess that if we still did not have it our attitude would be different.

Re: Has the Tapu suspension made you reconsider your involvement with Turkey?
I'm amazed at how many people want to sell up as soon as possible due to the TAPU problems. Is it really that big a deal ?
This glitch wont stop me using my property, it wont stop me renting out my property and by the looks of things it wont stop me selling it. Not that i intend to for at least 5 years anyway.
I really dont see why people are making such a big deal out of this.

They way I read it just over 44% of people aren't selling and don't plan to. Only 8% want to sell because of the problems.

The poll has been going less than 24 hours and already 4 people have said they want out as fast as possible due to the TAPU suspension. I think thats alot in such a short time.

Point taken Germaine, however the same could be said of the response by the 44% who say they are not intending to sell.
It is about the way you look at it I suppose.

The poll results are interesting so far and quite enlightening!
Personally Id like to see the 4 people who 'I now want to sell my property as fast as I can!' identify themselves so that the 3 people who 'was going to buy property and still plan to once the suspension is lifted' and maybe grab a bargain!!

we to are in it for the long term and as for selling properties it will not be as easy as they think as there are lots of properties for sale. I see no reason for a panic at this stage

Re: Has the Tapu suspension made you reconsider your involvement with Turkey?
Maybe there should have been one other question on this poll i.e. if you did not already have your tapu, would you then still buy?
Its okay for those of us who already have our tapus, but it must be worrying for those who haven't. Thinking back to when we bought nearly 5 years ago, there were plenty of scary moments about wether we were doing the right thing . Our purchases were totally straightforward because we had the good fortune to buy through Bodrum Garden Homes, but for those who don't have that kind of english speaking support and experience on side then it must take the shine off being the proud owners of a holiday home.
