F1 - Australian Grand Prix -Race # 1

Another year starts, we lose some drivers, we get some new move up the ranks to join the F1 scene.

Early start yesterday, half asleep I watched the race,
not the most exciting but nevertheless a superfluous drive and win for Hamilton -Mercedes! (25 points -that will do nicely, Thank you very much

Good 3rd for Vettel in his debut for Ferrari, though a massive 34 sec behind the Mercedes.

Only 11 out of 15 cars that started finished.
Some great first F1 finish and points earned for new comer Felipe Nasr (Sauber) 5th and Carlos Sainz (Torro Rosso) 9th.

Re: F1 - Australian Grand Prix -Race # 1

I watched the highlights in the afternoon.

I was a bit worried in case the result was given away on one of the programs before the replay but I got away with it.

I wasn't really impressed with the race, but as you say 25 points for Hamilton.

I think Vettel will be happy with 3rd place. Now he's just got to get closer to the Mercedes team. I get the feeling that he will pretty competitive as the season goes on

Re: F1 - Australian Grand Prix -Race # 1

I love F1......but it's becoming dull, very dull.

I watched the Australian GP and yet again Hamilton and Rosberg fly away from the rest of the field and not by small margins, about a second a lap.
The same thing happened last year.
That for me makes it dull.
And the same thing happened previous to that when Vettel was just disappearing into the distance.

Someone once said that F1 needs to bring in something like the touring cars have, which is weight penalties (adding weight) dependent on where you finish in the previous race....this tends to make the driving more interesting by keeping the cars closer together.

No doubt I'll continue watching the F1, but hope various drivers win.
