Re: Turkish Father Gets 22 Years For "Honour Killing"

Humanity should be a fundamental basis, with the highest priority, over and above any and every other single law for all religious ways of life.

Re: Turkish Father Gets 22 Years For "Honour Killing"

omg thats so difficult to read!.... he clearly was an emotionless man who prob had no relationship with his family and just 'breeded' them due to an arranged marriage! as someone els wrote "honour my arse" quite right!...he did it out if a fit of rage and anger not to 'restore' honor as what he did, did anything BUT restore honor but shame and make the family publicized with a sad mother.... god i h8 these type of *****!!!... yes i wrote it
oh well.... my swear words been 'edited' out lol

Re: Turkish Father Gets 22 Years For "Honour Killing"

Murder is murder is murder.

Whatever way you dress it up, there is nothing honourable about killing your own daughter. Anyone, or any culture that thinks that there is has some real serious issues to deal with and deal with them fast.

Personally I find it abhorrent that this kind of murder is given this name, the media need to stop labeling it as such; cruel despicable and vile are much more apt ways to describe it, lets please not give it a veneer of respectability by labeling it as something hounourable!

Re: Turkish Father Gets 22 Years For "Honour Killing"

i think that calling it ''honour killing'' actually makes it more terrible not less As this is done in full view and consent of the family...the name in Turkish is 'Töre cinayeti' and is from very old Muslim practices.İts common in the East of Turkey among Kurds and its also practised in areas of Pakistan and some Arab countries. İn İndonesia which is predominantly Muslim 'honour/feudal murders' are not practised.
Until the family and community values of cultures who accept this behaviour are changed this will continue.
