right or wrong?

on the one hand i am so against any form of council spying or snooping, but then again, i have neighbours who put their bins out 36 hours before collection and don't take them in for 2 or 3 days after, leaving them in the middle of the pavements!!!!!

Beware the bin snooper next door: Residents asked to report neighbours for putting rubbish out too early or late | Mail Online

Re: right or wrong?

my neighbours do the same.the bins are put out days early ,with rubbish hanging out the top.sometimes they put the wrong bin out on the wrong week .we've got lots of squirrels here and the trash everything.phoned the council, they send them a letter and things improve for a while.if they put the bins out early now,i just wheel them back outside their window, its getting a bit better now,i dont think they like smelly rubbish outside their own window

Re: right or wrong?

I agree with it. Its unsightly seeing bins of all bloody colours all over the roads.
We are quite lucky where we live and neighbours take in each others bins if they know people are at work.

Re: right or wrong?

It's wrong, how can you expect communities to even start to build if your neighbour is going to tell the council your bin has been out too long. If they didn't have so many bins and came a bit more often then maybe the bins wouldn't get left out for so long most people forget which day is which so just put them out early.
No wonder we live in an isolated world of high fences, drawn curtains and anti social behavior

Re: right or wrong?

the reason i phone the council is that the bin collection point is right outside my window, where all the bins have to be collected from.in the summer i cant open my window for the smell a nd flies that gather.if people considered others, there wouldnt be a problem

our bin collection day has been the same for as long as i've lived here, 12 years. it's a small private estate with 4 apartment blocks, and it's these tenants who are the ones putting bins out too soon and leaving them out.
each property, especially the apartments, has a bin store! so no excuse.

Re: right or wrong?

People don't consider others because there is no community to places dus to local authorities encouraging people to spy and tell on each other.

Re: right or wrong?

I put my bin out night before collection. Collect it following night,..some of my neighbours do not take bins back in for a couple of days. I do not care or mind and would certainly not report them.

Re: right or wrong?

We are so poor we have nothing to put in our bin

I am glad the neighbours leave their bins out as for us it is a self service for food scraps and soiled clothing

Re: right or wrong?

Isn't it going to cost more to man a snoopers council hotline and send people letters, rather than actually provide a better service?

Nina,

Can't you move the collection point? That sounds terrible I would certainly complain about that.
