re: Baroness Margaret Thatcher Dies

R.I.P. Maggie

Brilliant politician who made a stand when it was needed - not like the washed out current generation.
Character & guts- and fought like hell when challenged

Her legacy is still being felt

RIP Maggie. Didn't agree with some of her policies but she did right by the country as a whole and certainly stood up for us and when her term in office was over the country was in a better financial state than it ever has been since.

Well said! I know a lot of my friends won't be mourning her passing. Don't much care if others don't share my views and am happy to stand up and say that I sincerely wish we had a politician today with this great Lady's steely ( or should that be Iron?) will and the ability to lead. One who wasn't afraid to take on the often difficult and arduous tasks of Government and wasn't afraid NOT to turn from the task in hand.

Well done Mrs Thatcher. May you rest in peace.

The Lady had balls which is more than can be said about the wimps that have followed in her wake.

Maybe not always right but she stood by her principles. The Lady wasn't for turning.

RIP Maggie.

re: Baroness Margaret Thatcher Dies

She didn't always get it right, but she stood her ground. Like her or loathe her and there are plenty in both camps I haven't seen anyone on the political stage in this country since she left number 10 who were fit to come anywhere near her in stature.
Today my ex-police mate was gutted and my ex-miner mate said he will probably have a drink earlier than usual to 'celebrate', but both were in agreement that for all her faults, she was unique. Funny old world.

Margaret Thatcher - another view

It is amazing that when someone dies that everybody tries to say what a wonderful person they were.It probably comes from the saying 'that you should never speak ill of the dead' However there is very strong case for making an exception in this case. Thatcher was one arrogant corrupt b*****d. This is a woman who took her son (a second car salesman) and set him up in an arms sales business. She then channeled all business generated on her Middle East tours through his company making him millions. She was so arrogant to make a public mockery out of the concessions that she gave away against apartheid. She was so arrogant that she felt that she could ride roughshod over democracy and public opinion. (remember the pool tax). Of course the working class people were 'the enemy within' She was so arrogant as to boast about all the people she was responsible to have been put to their deaths. The only place that she was popular was in America and we know the standard of their politicians and their uneducated electorate. If this is the mark of a great leader then god help us. MAY SHE ROT IN HELL.

RIP Maggie. from all the praise she is getting here i think there will be an equal number of people who could say the opposite.

there were no half ways with her you either hated or loved her.-

dont forget it was her own cloth that got rid of her from politics in the end.
