Must admit, I found this mildly offensive, so I responded in the same vein.

Don't get upset about it.

No offence meant, just curiosity, as you rightly pointed out non of my business.

I hope all the hard work being put into the safety of some 2000+ attendees goes well, and there is no disruption to the service tomorrow. As is the intention of why I started this thread, Rest Peacefully.

Re: Baroness Margaret Thatcher Dies

Happy day tomorrow!!! Parties all over the commonwealth. I have the big event
recording on sky plus, the only negative is there is no "Series Record" option. I guess i was just being optimistic!

Now on a serious note. Despite our fallouts and misgivings on this debate, probably the most conscientious thread on TLF. I hope in my heart that a repetition of the Boston bombings does not occur tomorrow.

Re: Baroness Margaret Thatcher Dies

a funeral isn,t the place to protest or cause trouble. It is a time to mourn the dead and to show respect to the family.
I hope that tomorrow goes peacefully. For people wanting to make a political statement the funeral is not the time.

A funeral IS the last place to show protest. It is exactly where it should be.
We could go on forever debating the Pro's and Con's of Thatcher..
Given the 50/50 split just here alone on the forum we can expect the British public as a whole to be similarly divided.

My only hope is no protestor or supporter dies tomorrow as a result of her death.

Re: Baroness Margaret Thatcher Dies

As many of you know,I work in a supermarket. Today, we were asked if we would observe a minutes silence tomorrow, only myself and 3 others refused.
I will not be running around screaming, but I will go out the back and carry on working.
I will find this a bit alien because I have always observed silences and paid my respects, but in this case it would be hypocritical of me to do so.

I hope anyone who demonstrates tomorrow does so peacefully, and those that do want to pay their respects can do so without disruption

Re: Baroness Margaret Thatcher Dies

As someone who raised a glass on her demise, I just think that which ever side you sit on the divide the woman created, it should not cause civil unrest.
Feelings are strong on both sides of the divide, and as a result could cause fights etc. with each side trying their best to prove who is right.
In this instance there will be no winners, I agree with a group who propose to go and stand with their backs turned towards the procession as a way of protest.
However there will be plenty of supporters that would object to that.
Nothing like this is worth a lost life, I in all sincerity hope that it does not happen.
