Indeed Mollag, it was a huge relief for the majority of ordinary members, a very tense day!

PS: Talking of 'Gaffe's', I see that the SNP's very own Alex Salmond has been given his own program on RT

Mr Farage had appeared to blame the attack on Angela Merkel, leading Mr Cox to claim he was "blaming politicians for the actions of extremists".

In response, Mr Farage said: "Yes, well of course he would know more about extremists than me, Mr Cox. He backs organisations like Hope Not Hate, who masquerade as being lovely and peaceful, but actually pursue violent and undemocratic means.

After Mr Farage refused to retract the allegation, Hope Not Hate launched an appeal asking the public to help fund a legal case. It said 16,000 people have since donated to the fund.

Facing the threat of a court battle, Mr Farage has now agreed to withdraw his claims.

In a statement filed to the court, he reportedly said: "Having now considered the position further I am happy to acknowledge that Hope Not Hate does not tolerate or pursue violent or undemocratic behaviour."

The MEP also agreed not to repeat the claims or allow anyone to do so on his behalf."

Bit of a storm in a teacup imo, he said, I said........

What he said was untrue, thats what a lie is, it took a court case to get him to admit the lie, that shows he could care less about telling the lie, pity the 350 Million for the NHS was a lie as well.
All the hair splitting and semantics will not alter the truth, he lied and he has proved to and he has admitted it.
"Having now considered the position further I am happy to acknowledge that Hope Not Hate does not tolerate or pursue violent or undemocratic behaviour."

Despite the fact he said they did on TV. Pants on fire Nigel.

No, that is Not what a lie is Mollag: A "Lie" is;

"A false statement made with deliberate intent to deceive"

Lie | Define Lie at Dictionary.com

In this instance Nigel's 'comment' cannot have been planned, as it was (in this instance), responding to a provocative statement made by an interested party who phoned into his Radio program.......... (Sitting Duck)

It should be stated that Nigel never made any statement about 350 Million for the NHS even the Independent failed to find anything where Nigel states 350 Million for the NHS and here is the link where they failed
Video evidence emerges of Nigel Farage pledging EU millions for NHS weeks before Brexit vote | The Independent

And here are some of the comments regarding the above article
"
Shot yourself in the foot on this one. At no point does he pledge any amount of money. What he does say is that he would LIKE the money to be spent on the NHS. FAKE NEWS Independent FAKE NEWS. You are now discredited"

"I wish journalist would stop telling lies, Nigel said the money SHOULD go to the NHS and that he would LIKE the money to go to the NHS, presenters are just a guilty inferring that it is up to Nigel, when they know damn well he has no say in it, if he did it would be a whole new ball game"

"The headline is disingenuous. There is a vast difference between 'I would like to see the money spent.....' and 'the money will be spent.....' However, that kind of misinterpretation is commonly used by 'Hacks', after all, 'why let the truth get in the way of a good story', eh?"

Re: Another UKIP gaffe!!!

So where did his untruth [lie] come from?,

Did he invent it during the interview? [a lie]

Was he really stupid and allowed someone to convince him of the lie which he just parroted?

Was someone, Paul Nuttall maybe, working Nigel with his foot?

Was there a ventiloquist involved?

He is not Tom Pepper, he is very naughty boy.

Believing a lie does not make your use of it acceptable which was why he was sued and why he lost and retracted, admitting the lie.

Re: Another UKIP gaffe!!!

However footage from BBC Question Time on 9 June – just weeks before the referendum – shows the Ukip leader claiming the available cash was higher than 350 million and saying money should be spent on hospitals and GPs.

“Can we just get to the truth of this - 350 million a week is wrong, it’s higher than that,” he told the programme’s audience.

“FACT – absolute fact – from the official statistics cross-checked from the EU: we pay 55 million a day as a contribution. Some of that is the rebate which doesn’t go but our gross contribution is 55 million a day.”

“We should spend that money here, in our own country, on our own people,” he added.

Good enough for me , implication is quite clear 350 million or more for the NHS.
