We are seeing it through his eyes. The act was the Ukrainian's alone, but to Putin he saw as it as a much bigger plot of the West.

Re: Has Russia gone Rogue?

Interesting comment Ian but it seems that people believe that the only delivery vehicle would be an ICBM – NK, for what it’s worth, claim to have ICBM capability.

Nevertheless pretty much any vessel or sub in US waters could serve as a nuclear weapon carrier.

But preemptive encroachment – no joke – it’s history.

The general hadn't travelled to Bilderberg alone. Discussing the situation in Ukraine with this many senior government ministers makes it official military business. He was well accompanied."

An excuse to keep spending on the defence budgets, a more likely explanation.

To be honest with you Jacey many think (me included) that Maidan was not an act by the Ukrainian people on their own, YES it was the Ukrainian people who got killed but there is a very strong smell of EU/US involvement to the build up.

Obama is not weak, its the EU who is weak. Singularly or en bloc who would take on Russia in the EU? I think the EU/US just expected Russia to roll over, instead the bear growled. We know the rest of it, the EU/US ran for cover completely losing any initiative & to be honest letting the Ukrainians down.

Philip Hammonds only worth about 8 Million at the mo, it will be interesting to see how much he's worth after he retires from politics, the Prince of Darkness did well as did Blair, Brown etc, etc.........

"One third of the developed world’s budget is spent on munitions. Which side wins is of no consequence."

Isn't the WWW a fascinating place A much more interesting read than the comic's I grew up with when they, laughed & painted comical pictures of 'Rockets & men going to the moon'............

I know we’re getting off topic here but I don’t see any active EU/US involvement either pre or post Maidan – or in any other aspect of the conflict (unfortunately). Is there any evidence to the contrary?

But I’m with you on para #2.

Re: Has Russia gone Rogue?

How dare any country have the temerity to define a neighbour sovereign state as " it's buffer zone " , the denizens of each country have the inalienable right to define theirselves as they see fit.

Vlad the Putterupon wants make real friends , not buffer mates predicated on the implication of force.

Steve.
