Re: Russian Sanctions

I can see you are desperate to keep the subject on your tack, although what Ukraine has to do with a Turkish forum beats me; isn´t there a Ukraine Living Forum?

It´s sovereign integrity is only important to part of it, surely, most seem to be happy to go with Russia.

Why do we have internationally recognised borders if there not to be adhered to.

If these recently freed nations decide to deploy missiles for security, what business is it of Russia?
They were ringed before in the cold war without problems.

Its time Russia woke up to the fact they are no longer the super power they were but a corrupt one income stream economy.
Excuse the double post.

Russian troops in UK? what is that about?

Your argument is circular: because they were threatened during the Cold War they should be happy to be threatened now. Is that it?

Re: Russian Sanctions

Since when was less than 5% a majority?

I always refrain from commenting on Israeli, Syrian, Turkish politics because I don’t know enough about them. Get my point, or am I being too subtle?

And as you are the OP here it’s strange that you can’t even stick to your own topic.

It’s ‘Russian Sanctions’

I said you look like a man who would be happy with them on the streets of the uk a sovereign nation if you are happy for them to be in another sovereign nation its a question ??

I didn't say happy . If they felt threatened then as now they still didn't go about annexing parts of sovereign nations because they were . .

Re: Russian Sanctions

I am personally a believer in the US (not the EU), unfortunately over the last few years they have been caught out. The "coalition forces" are not see eager to be part of a coalition on US intelligence alone any more, that is a problem for us all. Russia (as we were taught in school) have always had the reputation of being evil, Russia has not tried to seize the opportunity, US/EU have handed it to them.
Guarantees re Nato bases on Ukraine territory not being sited could have been given, trade agreements COULD have been agreed to that benefited Russia, the EU & lastly but most importantly the Ukraine. That ship has sailed, does anyone expect this to end next month? At this moment in time they cannot even sort out the removal of body parts from a field.

If you give preferential trade agreements to everybody then they’re not preferential anymore!

I see so many critics of the EU/US but I secretly suspect that Putin might, just might, have a finger in the pie somewhere

Re: Russian Sanctions

Sorry, another BTB.

Europe plunged into energy crisis as Russia cuts off gas supply via Ukraine | Mail Online

“Russia cut gas exports to Europe by 60 per cent today, plunging the continent into an energy crisis 'within hours' as a dispute with Ukraine escalated.

This morning, gas companies in Ukraine said that Russia had completely cut off their supply.

Six countries reported a complete shut-off of Russian gas shipped via Ukraine today, in a sharp escalation of a struggle over energy that threatens Europe as winter sets in…”

I’ve a funny feeling that this may have more resounding consequences than even MH17!

You would think Spurs that the US/EU will have worked out the possible/probable repercussions beforehand so we must hope that the decision has been a calculated decision. Given that Germany is the powerhouse of Europe and has been so reluctant to date to come down heavy on Russia AND imports 36% of its gas supply from Russia then it makes me wonder what they have up their sleeve - surely something?
