Re: Global warming

Roll up! Roll up!! Pay your green taxes here!! Believe what we your esteemed leaders say that you can make a difference and save the planet!

Why is it I have to cut down my “Carbon Footprint” and pay “Green” taxes to save the world? Especially when these “World Leaders” are dropping bombs and firing artillery shells at whatever country they decide does not fit in with their current ideology and they also go on these flights to pointless conferences all over the world that do not achieve anything surely these two things alone cause more damage to Mother Earth than I or any herd of cows ever will!

I do not think that me putting a glass bottle in a recycling bin will make any difference, until they sort themselves and the bigger issues out!

Starting to think it’s all a load of tosh.

Ah... global warming- my favorite pet subject. Now called CLIMATE CHANGE because the Earth has not increased in temperature for nearly 18 years!!

Some basic facts that assumes CO2 CAUSES GLOBAL WARMING:

1. Only 3% of CO2 is man-made. https://wryheat.wordpress.com/2014/0...-fossil-fuels/

2. Carbon is the only one and essential element for all living organisms (It is by definition, a life-giving element not a pollutant).

3. Currently, CO2 in the atmosphere is at 400 parts per million (ppm). The target is 350 ppm to prevent a 2 degrees increase (the objective of COP21 in Paris). An 8.4% reduction in man-made CO2 equates to a 1 part per million decrease.

4. BUT 3% of 400 ppm = 12ppm. 400 -12 = 388ppm

4. Therefore, if we were to stop ALL CO2 emissions RIGHT AT THIS MOMENT, the best that could ever be achieved is 388ppm. 350.org

So don't panic, but we are all going to die!!!

That is until next years Climate Conference in Morocco (COP 22) ... Date: 07/11/2016 to 18/11/2016.

Don't forget- book early!

Re: Global warming

What Is going on with Weather forecasting, why has the Beeb sacked the Met Office? And who's going to be awarded this very lucrative contract next? In light of the non-event, that was the World Climate Change summit in Paris,
I say non-event but, pledging £100 Billion to this cause, is not a small undertaking! we already know Where, this money will come from, 'us' , but who is going to get it? & how exactly are they going to use it?

Boris Johnson could have had no idea that Piers brother would have such a meteoric (no pun intended) rise in prominence when he wrote this piece for the Telegraph.

"I do not have the expertise to comment on the Martini theory; I merely observe that there are at least some other reputable scientists who say that it is complete tosh, or at least that there is no evidence to support it. We are expecting the snow and cold to go on for several days, and though London transport has coped very well so far, with few delays or cancellations, I can’t help brooding on my own amateur meteorological observations. I wish I knew more about what is going on, and why. It is time to consult once again the learned astrophysicist, Piers Corbyn."

It?s snowing, and it really feels like the start of a mini ice age - Telegraph

"WeatherAction significant forecast successes with detail where applicable to a few days include:-
- Wet summers Britain & Ireland 2007, 2008, 2009 (when UK MetOffice precicted 'BBQ' summers!);
- West Russian Heatwave and the date of it's ending in August 2010;
- UK coldest (and very snowy) December for 100 years Dec 2010;
- Extreme deadly tornado swarms eg Joplin Missouri USA May 2011;
- Hurricane Irene USA East coast predicted in detail 12 weeks ahead;
- The year without a summer - extreme deluges and hail - Britain & Ireland 2012;
- Very Extreme deluges and hail July 2012 USA and Europe;
- V late Spring BI 2013 (WA won British Asparagus Assoc competition for market readiness);
- Late Oct Storm ('Piers Corbyn's Storm) S England +NW Euope 28Oct 2013, predicted 6mth ahead;
- Extra-ordinarily cold (displaced polar vortex) Winter/Springs 2014 and 2015 (East) USA+S Canada.
NONE of the above were predicted long-range by any other forecasters."

Welcome

What was it our grandparents used to say - "they'd find a way of charging us for the very Air we Breath, if they could".......... Looks like they've found a way now

Re: Global warming

Unless you are a Scientist in this field how are you supposed to know the truth.
Just picking out bits of information that you happen to like on either side of the argument will never reveal the truth.
Like most people getting bogged down in the scientific information doesn't appeal.
I would be in favour though of a cleaner world with less nasty emissions and energy conservation.
At least we are talking about it even if the result isn't satisfactory.

Re: Global warming

In the post below, you will see for yourself the depths of the incompetence of our politicians. They are treating people like infant school children.

As with so called "climate change" and the ISIL/Daesh threat for examples, the attempted propaganda and brainwashing is truly staggering:

Cheap electricity when the wind blows under plan to help tackle climate change - Telegraph

The first comment to the above article demonstrates that despite what politicians may think, we are not brainless morons:

"I have over 30 years of experience in the construction of high value power generation, transmission and distribution projects worldwide - never in all my years have I seen such an incompetent useless shambolic bunch of inept (or are they simply corrupt) politicians trying to run a power system.

I have long been posting here that sooner or later people would have to buy a 5KW home power generator or sit in the dark as the brownouts and blackouts start. What I forecast has now come to pass - the grid is at such a critical juncture that Amber Rudd's only solution is the ask people to wash their clothes only when it is sunny or windy.

What next Rudd - even number houses only using electricity only on even number days, and odd number houses only using electricity only on odd number days? There is a word for that - its called RATIONING.

You could not have forecast a bigger waste of space for Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change as the one we have.

I have a suggestion for Amber Rudd - try boiling your head or go back to picking extras for a movie - leave the job of ensuring electrical power for homes and industry to the big boys - you are out of your depth in a car park puddle."

So for all members of the TLF living in the UK, it would be advisable if you started to prepare for blackouts sooner, rather than later.
