Re: A hard year for Turkey.

Just to play Devil's Advocate - how many years are these sums over, one quote is "over many years"
The reason I ask is that the NHS just isn't set up to collect fees. If a fool proof system needs to be set up how much will that cost ? Knowing the NHS's ability to grow managers I would think there could suddenly be a proliferation of "Fee Recovery Managers" It may be that the cost of recovery may be greater than the current loss

If someone from abroad with no medical history takes ill when in this country it isn't the same as health tourism

I am sure it would have been a lot more if Tourism had been better ... with "all inclusives" looking for cheap alcohol to help profits due to higher Covid costs... Both Tourists and Turks like to enjoy themselves in company with a drink....

Disaster spreads city by city! Number of deaths from fake drink rises to 32
After 7 people in Kırıkkale and 17 people in İzmir died of fake alcohol, reports of poisoning came from Mersin, Istanbul and Muğla. Five people died in Mersin, 1 in Istanbul and 2 in Muğla. Since Friday, the number of people who lost their lives from fake drinks in Kırıkkale, İzmir, Mersin, İstanbul and Muğla rose to 32.

You are most likely right if your suggesting there may be many more unreported deaths due to fake alcohol...

Re: A hard year for Turkey.

The red nose made me smile and I remember 1 chief that really suffered with gout and he stamped his foot down hard with every other step.

On one ship we had one chief paying off and the replacement coming on board was known as 'Killer Miller'. His surname was Miller and not only was he well oiled when he joined the ship, he remained that way, he was permanently banned from the engine-room so that left the 2nd Engineer in overall control.
He was Scottish and when we were docked near Grangemouth, his wife came on board for a day with their three young sons.
He didn't even know the boys' names! I kid you not, he called the boys A, B and C and the poor little souls knew which one was which.
My husband and I paid off that ship soon after and I never saw Killer Miller again. What a waste of a man!!

I would have thought it would suit the agenda to have someone else counting these ones.

Re: A hard year for Turkey.

Health board is doing these stats. Cumhuriyet.
275000 positive cases hidden in September.
81570 in April.
With the test rate and the percentage of these numbers 324177 confirmed cases should have been registered.. So how can anyone believe anything anymore.
