Re: Rat Problem Akbuk

Two years ago we had a big rat problem on Jasmin Gardens. Some unlucky people had to replace fridges/furniture/washing machines etc as they had been chewed through by the rats. They came into our bathroom though the washing machine outlet, we think but apart from the mess inside our cupboard under the basin we were very lucky indeed as they went no further than that. We were told that our management have put in those one way flaps so that only water can get out and nothing can get in - we have had no rat problems since. Fingers crossed !

Leaving food out for the birds , is also not a good idea

Re: Rat Problem Akbuk

When we lived on a site in Bodrum we were working overseas and the house was not lived in for several months at a time. Family did come out and use it occasionally but generally it was a quiet area of the site. My brother got one hell of a shock when he and missus arrived for w two week holiday. he was opening the curtains to open the window to open the shutters, when he noticed a large rat on the outside of the window pressed up against the shutter. Fortunately he saw it before he open the window or in would have fallen into the house, on him. That particular shutter had warped and the rat climbed in over the top to escape the heat of the day. We discovered on that site that rats love pergolas, they use the horizontal struts as motorways.
