Any mention of the ECJ ruling over us?

Is the EU doing great or is it just about the trading aspects of the bloc?
I only ask because what countries in the EU are doing so well that their citizens are happy bunnies............
Surely the yardstick is Germany, thats the kind of heights all member states must hope for. The question though might just be, why has the Far Right now have plenty of seats in the German Parliament if everything is so blissful?
Beyond that, the wealth & power of that nation still suffers from the very same issues as the UK does. So if its not working for them............something isn't right & the people know it, the ballot box proves that.

Funny that Enoch but when have all the EU states ever been happy about anything?

Read a couple of years back that some of the poorer member states are being left with unoccupied & now derelict villages. Villages where other parts of those countries need the land to be tended, for crops/food chain ect.

A classic case of you reap what you sow.........but nobody is left to do the sowing.
There's a vicious circle being created, all in the name of business. Not knocking the people themselves but their movement might be the benefit to some but its become very detrimental to regions where they've left.
But hey........who cares?

Re: BREXIT - What now ?

This EU move has more than a whiff of the referendum 1975 negotiations deja vu moment, for me.... ECB & other European banks are very worried about their 'investments' in Turkey - No way the UK should be dragged into their bank bail-out, if it comes, we're still paying for the last one!!!

According to dramatic reports in the Daily Telegraph the leaders of key EU member states are actively considering a compromise deal.

This would allow the UK to end free movement of people whilst remaining in the European single market for goods.

However, some Brexit supporters are already rejecting the possible deal as unacceptable.

This is because it would require the UK to accept future EU environmental and social protections, which Britain would have little influence over.

City of London is booming despite Brexit doomsters, says Ross Clark
Former Brexit Minister and Tory Eurosceptic David Jones said: “There is no way the Prime Minister could accept any deal that involves us being tied to future EU rule changes.

“It would mean MPs having to tell voters at the next election that there are still things we can’t do because the EU won’t let us.

“We would be hammered for that.”

However Mr Jones did welcome the proposals as a sign that European leaders will compromise if the UK takes a firm line."

Britain must be free to Govern herself, free to trade with anyone, live under her own laws; be good neighbours - nothing more, nothing less.

Re: BREXIT - What now ?

Meanwhile back in the real world..... do we really want our hard earned money being squandered with such recklessness & total lack of accountability!

"UKIP has uncovered a tender for a ton of tat for the European Border and Coast Guard Agency, also known as Frontex

Frontex is an agency of the European Union tasked with border control of the European Schengen Area, in coordination with the border and coast guards of Schengen Area member states.

The staggering €810k tender lists everything from paper bags and foldable umbrellas to silver-plated cuff links and brass medals. We don’t know what the medals are to be awarded for – Frontex has totally failed to protect the borders of Europe."

Re: BREXIT - What now ?

There will be spare money to cover this as the UKIP Meps won't be collecting their salaries for doing sweet FA. How come when a brexiteer posts they only ever have links to Daily Express articles (stories) that mostly no other paper seems to cover and I am including the Mail and Telegraph.

73 UK MEPs & most are not even UKIP. The reckoning is that about a third of MEPs who sit in Brussels are Eurosceptic & potentially even more in May 2019, but of course that will be down to Russia no doubt.

Re: BREXIT - What now ?

Ukip members never vote and some like Farage hardly ever turn up. All will be getting nice pensions for doing nothing to look after the interests of the people who voted for them. There are some hard working MEPs of all political parties but a racist rabble tar them all with the same brush. Farage only ever turns up if the TV cameras are likely to be broadcasting to the UK. Brexiteers are totally obsessed with what will happen to the EU when we leave. Why as you have got your wish so why are you bothered?
