I wonder why our reputation in world politics seem to be on the wane?
The EU talks the view that a withdrawal agreement was thrashed out, low and behold we now want more ( scream and scream till I am sick) nevertheless it is the EU's fault
.[/QUOTE]

Agreed the withdraw agreement was thrashed out but just like the recent EU Presidential elections, where the nomination for the eventual winner was also thrashed out, it had to be ratified by the EU Parliament.........no ratification, no job.
Both Brussels, the UK & all the other 27 EU members states were well aware of the process, talks, negotiations, agreement, ratification.
Lets be clear of one thing though, the ratification was solely down to our MPs, not Jo Public & that's the fault line.........our very own MPs who will & quite rightly should pay the price for their uselessness.
Serious votes have taken place in Westminster, what do they do? Jeer & laugh at results pending on which side of the house they sat on......they don't even deserve bloody seats..
Switzerland did sign up for various parts of EU laws/regs for further down the line BUT any Swiss person looking back to 15 or 20 years ago can see (like all of us) how the EU has changed. The only external friends that the EU/Brussels currently have are the ones it gives monies to.

As said, what net payer would want to sign up to the EU now?

OK an old article but shows that many have changed their mind and will in all probability to continue to do so.

A London based newspaper & the editor is/was George Osborne the ex- Conservative Chancellor, who stood for remain & told us there would be an emergency budget.............. hardly bias.
At the recent EU MEP elections Guy Verhofstadt came over to canvas for the Lib Dems, done it in London.........never dare to go into the leave areas in the North East, nor did I hear about him in the Midlands.
Said before Jaycey, the most recent & reliable polls I can think of was the MEP elections.........the real deal, people got off their backsides for that poll.

Just out of curiosity, not an au contraire, does anyone know the turnout percentage for the MEP elections in the UK.

United Kingdom
32.35%
32.57%
36.37%
36.43%
24%
38.52%
34.7%
35.60%
37%

Those figures are over the last few MEP elections, the latest being 2019 37%.

Not great but they've never been great TBF.
