Syria's displaced recall horrors of suspected chemical attack

Residents of eastern Ghouta were evacuated from the city of Douma last month after an alleged chemical attack. They say the incident on the night of April 7 was "like the end of the world."

UK poised to overcome Russian objections in chemical weapons vote

“The west appears to have the votes to defeat Russia and force through changes that would give weapons inspectors expanded powers to identify those responsible for using chemical weapons in Syria.

The changes are being proposed by a UK-led alliance angry at the way Russia has shielded the regime of the Syrian president, Bashar al-Assad, from culpability over the repeated use of chemical weapons…

Russia's Supreme Court says the war in Syria isn't a war

“Russia’s Supreme Court has refused to recognize the war in Syria as a war. Rejecting an appeal by 10 Syrian citizens who were denied temporary asylum in Ivanovo, the court ruled that “the events taking place on Syrian territory have the specific characteristics of a counter-terrorist operation, not a classic military confrontation.” On these grounds, Russia’s Supreme Court concluded that the plaintiffs could not have suffered “individual persecution” or “inhumane treatment.”…

A minor misunderstanding – I’m sure Trump will sort this out

A Russian-Backed Offensive in Syria Makes a Mockery of Trump

“A humanitarian disaster is unfolding in southern Syria, where hundreds of thousands of people are fleeing heavy fighting and finding borders locked tight. More than three hundred thousand civilians are on the move—some on tractors, some on foot—trying to escape a Russian-backed Syrian army offensive aimed at reconquering the city of Dara’a and the surrounding area, where the rebellion against the regime of Bashar al-Assad began seven years ago…

Re: Syria

Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu on Tuesday called on international allies to work together in Syria’s Idlib in efforts to prevent civilian casualties, according to Anadolu Agency.

“What we propose is very clear. Let’s stop this civil war in Idlib.
