Syria

I find it a bit out of order The USA airstrikes in a ceasefire killing at least 60 odd Syrain soldiers.
There would have been all hell let loose if the Russians had done it.

the difference here is that it is the Americans butchering Assad loyalist scumbags and dogs.....whereas the Russians would be targeting the moderate rebel freedom fighters....so honestly, I'm glad the assad dogs are dead....

Re: Syria

America breaks the ceasefire: what a surprise. They could have waited for the ink to dry on the agreement but there is no money in peace, so best to just get it over with.

I read that America is complaining this morning about Assad being unreasonable. So funny!

Re: Syria

Yes, it seems like complete pandemonium in that neck of the woods (as in the rest of the world). Those Americans have got a bloody cheek behaving the way they do, then accusing the Russians if they put a foot wrong. A US spokesman then tried to dismiss the killing of Syrian soldiers as a distraction! Then, as a Russian spokesman pointed out, when there were lines of ISIL soldiers brazenly marching on Palmyra, they did absolutely nothing. An air strike could have then prevented the destruction of those beautiful and irreplaceable ruins and the massacre of hundreds of civilians.

Not only is it already a crazy situation were armies on the same side are killing each other, but matters will inevitably spiral out of control yet again. Remember Libya, Iraq, Afghanistan?

On another note and correct me if I'm wrong, but those last ISIL strongholds of Mosul and Raqqa have both mains electricity and water. An Iraqi plane was flying over them dropping leaflets and it was lit up like a Christmas tree.

Am I missing something?

It's easy to condone killing, start by demonising the dead, a tried and tested method.

I doubt if those on the receiving end consider or accept it as friendly fire, we know it happens but that tag doesn't make it any better.

Re: Syria

Airstrikes were allowed by all parties Russian ,Syrian, and Coalition during the ceasefire. If it was on targets not party to or allowed to be part of the ceasefire like Daesh and for Russians and Syrians ,on Al Nusra and Daesh .

This American/Australian strike was mistakenly made on Assad's forces , instead of the real target Daesh who were in the area and as in most wars thier positions were fluid. It Resulted in the death of some of Assad's forces . The Australians have since apologized ,and the Americans said they will follow suit and given a part apology when proof is made of the deaths .....

IMHO if the strike had been on civilians or a hospital I would feel some sorrow ,and see a need for a profuse apology. Maybe even for the fact there was a ceasefire in place ,even though it was done mistakenly and not meant for them .......

but these where Assad forces, forces who have under his control have killed more of thier own people, than the main enemy Daesh ,who on Assad's orders keep up sieges around towns and cities denying entry of humanitarian aid and medicine from various charities. At the moment aid trucks are backed up on the Turkish trucks border waiting to relieve the suffering of these starving people, but are not being allowed to , even during the ceasefire .....

These were Assad forces that Target journalists for elimination , use illegal armaments in the form of barrel bombs ,white phosphorus, cluster ,gas on civilians. Who coordinate deliberate attacks and strikes on hospitals etc etc , so sorry if I wont shed a tear for Assad's forces caught in this mistake of target......... So why would I be asking for all hell to be let loose on these Americans or Australians for this genuine mistake.

Whilst murderous Assad's patron Grandstands............

Pointless having discussions on ceasefires then with that attitude. Obviously with Australia's swift apology they think differently.
