"Official statistics published in December 2011 marked the end of the long-term downward trend in the number of households in temporary accommodation; seasonally-adjusted figures had fallen in each successive quarter since peaking in 2004. The most recent quarterly statistics published in December 2016 recorded 74,630 households in temporary accommodation at the end of September 2016. I saw the DM headlines in the supermarket today and bought the paper; the first newspaper i've bought in maybe ten years. I'm still working my way through the article. Imagine if you will; one gobsmacked almost totally lost for words RBH.

Why? Who thought this was a good idea? There are people in this country that have paid in to the system and have to put up with this Twaddle. Twaddle could be replaced by another word. Loonies are running the asylum.

Re: Who's Spending Britain's Billions???

Something Must be done about this (imo) Criminal waste of Tax-Payers monies!

Whilst most of us were busy getting our heads around the Brexit court case in the last couple of months last year, I've just read this article from Nov 2016 about more of our money being syphoned into private coffers using Off-shore banks, the government were supposed to be clamping down on!....

A draft bill from the Department for International Development (DfID) proposes to increase the limit on official support given to the CDC, formerly the Commonwealth Development Corporation, from £1.5bn to £6bn – with further scope for the cap to be doubled.
UK government led public to believe aid to India had ended, watchdog says.
At a time when the government has pledged to curb the use of tax havens and account for how aid is spent, the development prompted an outcry from opposition MPs and tax justice campaigners, who highlighted the CDC’s record of channelling investments through secretive offshore locations.

Critics also took aim at the CDC’s record of pouring funding into gated communities, shopping centres and luxury property in poor countries, claiming the bill signalled a highly “ideological” shift in direction for DfID

RBH, like yourself I am now almost speechless...... Who the Hell is Really running UK PLC & for Whom?

Some good news, it's a start! Girl band 'Yenga' loses UK Foreign Aid funding.

"The government has axed plans to fund a five-member Ethiopian girl band, saying there are "more effective ways" to invest UK aid.

International Development Secretary Priti Patel reviewed the funding after reports that pop group Yegna had received millions from UK taxpayers.

The government planned to give Girl Effect, the organisation which created Yegna, £11.8m between 2015 and 2018."
