Re: NHS & Social Care in Crisis!

Our Adult social care amount is £55.87, the increase to that amount is 2%, it totals about 2.5% of out total bill

Meanwhile my niece on the full hit of benefits and working the legal 16 hours a week has just started booking her 2018 holidays to the Med, 2017 all ready fully booked.
She will get a full state pension having not contributed, and should she need adult social care the state will fund it 100% her never having to pay her own council tax.
Am I missing something ?

Martin

Re: NHS & Social Care in Crisis!

And neatly side stepped by government!

Quote:
Petitions in 2017.

With an inflation busting 3.9% increase last year, many Councils propose another 4% this year which cannot be justified. The tax is already too expensive, this Government and Councils must get their finances in order, MP's should take a pay cut along with over paid Council executives.

This petition was rejected
Why was this petition rejected?

Itís about something that the UK Government or Parliament is not responsible for.

Local councils, not the UK Government or Parliament, set the rates of council tax in their local area.

We only reject petitions that donít meet the petition standards.

Re: NHS & Social Care in Crisis!

A twice rapist has just been removed from a male prison to a female one after undergoing a sex change whilst in prison at a cost of 10k and people wonder why the NHS is in the state that it is in. These are the only ones that we actually hear about !

Re: NHS & Social Care in Crisis!

Im taking my father (who is now formally diagnosed with mixed dementia) for a CT scan on his bowel and prostrate area.
My dad is 91, when we visited the consultant last week after being referred to him urgently via the GP.
I of course had to answer a lot of the questions on behalf of him, The consultant explained that he would be extremely reluctant to operate on one so old and fairly frail if the scan shows the need, I understand that, he then asked me if I thought we should even undertake the scan , his thinking was if you are going to do nothing with what you find then why look in the first place.
The decision was mine so I said we would have the scan, knowing or not knowing the outcome, not sure what would be worse.
He had no issues with our choices but had to explain likely outcomes or not. This is a very experienced consultant who I believe had worked out the problem and what he was going to find based on the GP's diagnosis and the answers to the questions.
Part of me now thinks I am taking resources away from someone who could be helped whereas there is a high probabillity my dad cant be helped.
A tough day ahead.

Martin

Tell me about it! I am furious after reading that news. Along with boob jobs for the vain it seems there's nothing the NHS won't fund, except for my daughters dental implants.

Teeth for kids are apparently not as important as sex changes and big tits.

Your dad has paid his way all his working life, and probably is still paying income tax, he is as entitled as anyone else in my book.
