NHS & Social Care in Crisis!

Should UK spend significant amounts of the 'Foreign Aid Budget' on our ill & elderly?

Having been subjected to the trauma of SS & LA Vulture Culture that has become prevalent over the last few years & looking at the obscene waste of billions given to crackpot schemes & Governments, the only answer from me is Yes!

Raising Council Tax will Not address the problem, it will exacerbate it! The poorer an area is the less they are able to raise in Council Taxes (Poll Tax!). How the hell is putting more pressure on specific sectors going to improve anything!

"Council bosses say they need an extra £1.3billion to fund the care sector, which faces a rapidly ageing population, wage rises and budget cuts. Tory backbenchers point out this amount is equal to the slice of the £12billion aid budget that Britain sends to Brussels to spend on our behalf.

Shipley MP Philip Davies said: ‘Charity begins at home and we should make sure we are spending enough on social care for our vulnerable older and disabled constituents before we send money abroad – especially when so much of that is wasted."

Absolutely, this has always been a bone of contention about us funding des pot dictators, funding a rocket to the moon and other wacky things, when our sick and elderly struggle to survive.
You will be more than likely lambasted for your source rather than the content.

I've Had to grow a Very thick skin over the years I've been a member BJ, questioning the 'source' & not the 'content' is a game played by those who cannot muster a good debate off their own bat.......... (The same article is available if one pays for access to the esteemed Times - which I don't....)

Paying a 'Rain Man' Millions for so-called research! Lord! How they Must Still be Laughing their Heads off at the naivety of 'our' so-called Superiors!

Re: NHS & Social Care in Crisis!

60 years ago when I was at primary school we donated as did every other school, money on a daily basis to help the `black babies` in Africa, after 60 years it has made jot all difference, since then there has been concerts and all sorts of other aid.

Nothing changes and it is still a 3rd world country and in my opinion will never change.

If after 60 years we still have to admit failure then move on and look after our own!

Re: NHS & Social Care in Crisis!

We as a country have had to cut taxes for the richest in society, we have also created and facilitated a situation where neither the employee or employer have to pay tax or national insurance, we have created a country where corporation tax is a choice.
The NHS is being slowly privatised, the state pension has Been identified as the next target for cutting.
Who benefits ? And who gains ?
And Hills the interview with the school head was from my old secondary school, I thought he articulated the issues well.
