Martin McGuinness

Not going into the politics of NI but just watched Martin McGuinness on the news, he looks extremely ill.

Re: Martin McGuinness

Cannot say I am onside with anyone wishing another human being a painful or slow death....I felt the same way about the views and opinions on Mrs T at the time of her passing.

There is something sad about the end of life whoever it befalls.....I know in many peoples minds one would be quick to recall how he supported violence and the use of force to achieve a United Ireland.

I will not go into how our paths have crossed but in his later years I found him courteous and friendly and wanting a peaceful path for those coming behind him as opposed to how I found him in earlier years.

My only wish is that his passing would be a quiet and dignified affair without the trappings of his Para-Military past.....that for me would be a true sign that he is a man of peace and true of his word..... rejecting violence and upholding the democratic institution's and the way of peace.

Although I agree with your first part Bueman I cant agree with the rest.If as you say A Man of Peace,he should own up to all that he has done and ordered done, along wıth the other creep Adams. There wıll be no tears shed on thıs sıde of the water when he crokes,Im sure of that.

Re: Martin McGuinness

Whilst I do not agree with his politics he undoubtedly went more than the extra mile in trying to reach out to erstwhile enemies, an approach which was inevitably rejected which somewhat echoed back to the situation in which MMG originally found himself feeling he had to take the original path he chose

Of course we have the usual keyboard warriors who know nothing of how or why MMG and others in his community chose the path he did suffice to say there's hardly a major political party on this island that does not have former connections to armed groups- indeed both parts of the island were born out of violence with the Northern statelet being inextricably linked to subjugation hatred and discrimination

I have previously wrongly expressed bile at the passing of bitter political enemies. It serves no purpose.

Despite my diametrically opposed political views on our political situation here with MMG I wish him a speedy recovery from his heart issues and certainly recognise the valiant attempt he made to cure our incurable divisions.
