Coypus in cork

Coypus rats have been discovered living in the river Lee in Cork. It is believed that two coypu were released into the river two years ago and have now bred.
Coypu , which are a cross between a large rat and a politician, are known to spread disease and can be harmful if approached . I remember when i was young, one of my neighbours worked for coypu control, eradicating the coypu which had infested the Norfolk Broads. Supposedly once they get a hold they thrive. Now they are living in the city centre, the public have been told to keep a look out.
