BA Flight Holiday Mayhem

Thousands of people across the world have been stranded, airports swamped in people waiting to hear something - anything about why BA have cancelled flights!

Eventually BA claimed it was caused by a Power outage, then a Glitch..... But is it because they too have outsourced their IT services Off-shore countries & companies?

"The GMB said the disruption could have been avoided if the airline had not cut "hundreds of dedicated and loyal" IT staff and contracted the work to India in 2016.

Mick Rix, national officer for aviation at the union, said: "We can only feel genuinely sorry for the tens of thousands of passengers who are stranded at airports and face having their travel plans and holidays ruined.

"This could have all been avoided. In 2016 BA made hundreds of dedicated and loyal IT staff redundant and outsourced the work to India.

"BA have made substantial profits for a number of years, and many viewed the company's actions as just plain greedy."

I had no idea that B.A had employed Indians on a "temporary" basis ,- I wonder how long "temporary" will last before they all disappear into the ether!! Call me synical, bet I'm right though. Totally unjust on the original worker's. " To fly is to serve" yeah right - even buy their over priced sandwiches now!! B.A.used to be our airline of choice. Not any more.

Re: BA Flight Holiday Mayhem

Hills , i worked for the UK's largest private employer . Our customer helpline was in Cardiff and one problem was that " some " staff had quite pronounced accents.

So the morons closed it and moved it to India.

After our helpline being deluged with " i cant understand a bl00dy word " calls and locking it up , the decision was taken to close the Hindustan Help Centre and repatriate.

So the uber morons moved it to Livingstone in Scotland ?

I had serious incidents referred to me for finding a solution , but the one i could not overcome was " i cant understand a bl00dy word "

Shortly after this the whole board and Co Sec was removed.

I wonder how the Spanish owned carrier will get on with moving jobs out of the UK.

I had three friends who worked for BA technology integration at Heathrow.

They all now work for outsourced companies in the same field , but not for BA.

Does UK Plc own anything any more , or has the heirloom of Empire been totally squandered ?

Steve
