It is in the Bahamas where Amber Rudd home secretary keeps her fax free offshore banking.

Magic money forest more like for this cabal of cheats.

Re: 30k a month to broadcast live pictures of empty room

I was looking for news about Stormont, as it has now been empty for 600 days! I was surprised to see that there have been many demonstrations in NI about this disgraceful state of affairs.

Posting here rather than the overstretched Brexit thread. I think the topic deserves it's own space.

Utter madness!

"Rallies have taken place across Northern Ireland to express frustration at the lack of a functioning Stormont.

It's been 589 days since the devolved assembly collapsed and Northern Ireland surpasses Belgium for the longest time without a government in peacetime."

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-northern-ireland-45336784

I picked up another interesting nugget whilst looking for the above;

"Political parties in Northern Ireland received £450,000 in public funding and donations between April and June.

Almost £400,000 was provided through public funds while £50,000 was made by individuals and private companies.

The majority of the publically donated £400,000 was issued by The House of Commons, the NI Assembly and the Electoral Commission."

I wonder if the threat of stopping their salaries, pensions and perks might bring these factions together?

It might be worth remembering that the dinosaurs never wanted to share power in the first place so they are most likely happy being in Westminster propping up their supporters and leaving Sinn Fein out in the cold. These bastions of democracy just want their version of democracy which they enjoyed and supported by Britain since the creation of the Unionists Statelet. 'A Protestant State for a Protestant People'.

I wasn't apportioning blame Michael, as far as I'm concerned it's 6 of one & half a dozen of the other. I posted the links for info on the current impasse after 600 (lost) days.

It's a problem that needs sorting ASAP & All sides need to get to the table to sort it.

Not sure Chips, but the Dinosaurs would most likely draw their pensions from Westminister. Again not sure, but they are most likely drawing salaries from Westminister also.

Re: 30k a month to broadcast live pictures of empty room

Bit like the Sinn Fein MPs not bothering to come to Westminster to represent their constituents then?

Obviously no-one watches the channel or there would have been an outcry before now.
Suggest they cut it off and save the cash.
